On the 4th September 2010 Andy Hamilton and Emma got married. Mr Hamilton was clad in Highland Dress with a Hamilton tartan kilt and Argyle jacket - see picture left - and baby Ewan had a tartan waistcoat.
The story goes like this. The Hamilton tartan is not available for hire so Mr Hamilton ordered one to be made. Mr Hamilton already had all the other accoutrements including an Argyle jacket.
An appointment was made in Midhurst for Stuart Fraser to take measurements, a tartan was chosen and ordered from the cloth suplier.Later, Mr Hamilton came to Midhurst for a fitting
At the fitting Mr Hamilton raised the idea of a waistcoat for little Ewan, his son, then only 2 months old. By the time of the wedding the baby would be 5 months old. This posed the problem of making a waistcoat which he could grow into.
Sturat Fraser came up with the idea of knitted back and a woven front which would give and stretch, thus avoiding critical sizing. Mr Hamilton came back to collect his kilt. The waistcoat was mailed later. The pictures below are self explanatory.
